Student Activities

Whether on-site at the Georges River EEC or in your school, this guide will support syllabus development and deepen student engagement.

Students that come here learn so much and have created such strong links to education and environment, it becomes a natural instinct to protect and care for their surrounding after they leave the centre. A classic game with an introduction to Zero, Baggy and Jelly Boy by LeAnne our guide was a fun way to engage children on the importance of the urban water cycle and understanding how litter travels from land and into our waterways eventually through to the ocean. A relay game played by the students allows modelling of how the litter moves through the environment, that links to the urban water cycle and how everyday items can be washed and blown into the Georges River and beyond. the hands-on session builds understanding, environmental awareness and responsible citizenship in a fun active learning experience.
